Dreams Begin Hitting The Portal

It’s been a while since dreams have filtered into my sleep. It’s been so stressful with the unknowns but the routine surprises keep popping like bubbles. Fragile in build and complex in form. Momentum is shifting in the sense that there is a restful peace on my shoulders. It’s not that they need a good shrugging to move forward but there is a calm over what cannot be controlled.

This is the vision of my waking life. Work hard, fall asleep, and then dreams defragment the process. It almost feels like a natural tool to deal with the selfish. Instead of looking outward, the inward war begins. I’ve never trusted a life inside a mind. The ears have to work too. Listening is a quick judgment of character.

The odd antidote is that writing makes me a better listener. No one listens well. Experience judges what to listen to while shoving an earbud into its home.

I’ll never get used to how natural that looks right now. Earbuds are a thing. White center pieces closing off reasoning with a vacuum of noise catered to the listeners emotions. If it weren’t for being locked on phones, people are in open conversations to their chosen channel.

For me, it’s a new social jungle. It’s not a bad one but there was something always grating about the jungle. It is never-ending. The rain would be non-stop. To me, the new jungle is living outside of the phone and earbuds. The social order of tracking information while wasting time due to a snarky remark from a co-worker not happy with expectations.

Wriggling around just so that you won’t forget. There’s certainly some venom in the looks that you collect.
